Built on the same fundamental design as the 1988 Turbo Optima Mid Special, its longer wheelbase greatly enhances driving stability compared to the standard Optima Mid. This vintage-inspired modification ensures confident control and smooth handling on track.

The main chassis uses a high-tech hybrid material (FRP layered with carbon). This provides balanced flexibility under load for smooth handling. Inspired by the original, it features slots allowing for a classic split battery configuration setup for optimal weight distribution and vintage authenticity.

The body is redesigned specifically for the extended wheelbase. It has been updated to fit modern battery sizes while perfectly preserving the original iconic appearance. Includes a dustproof underbody for improved aerodynamics and a decal sheet to replicate the original packaging colour scheme.

For this vintage relaunch, newly designed narrow 50mm front tyres and wheels are introduced. The block-pattern tyres provide superior grip on track. The yellow resin-moulded wheels match the existing rear wheels, creating an authentic vintage racing look.

The oil shocks feature a beautiful gold anodised finish, inspired by vintage Kyosho high-end models. They use medium-hard springs in both the front and rear, ensuring smooth, responsive suspension action and predictable handling on various surfaces, just like the originals.

Aluminium parts are finished in exclusive Kyosho Works gunmetal colour, a special touch not available on the original 1988 production model. The shock (damper) stays feature durable black FRP plates, adding to the authentic vintage racing look and feel of this special edition kit.

Standard universal swing shafts are fitted on the front axle. This advanced design reduces drivetrain loss, which minimises deceleration during cornering. It also helps prevent parts from detaching during operation, ensuring reliable power delivery and performance on the track.

A new belt cover designed to fit the extended wheelbase securely protects the drive belt from dirt and stones entering the drivetrain. The precise fit also makes it easy to attach the upper deck during assembly, ensuring a clean, well-protected build and smooth belt operation.

Turnbuckle-type upper suspension arms and steering rods are included as standard. These allow quick, stepless length adjustments without disassembly. This enables rapid setup changes for fine-tuning your buggy's performance to different track conditions quickly and easily at the trackside.

The rear hub carrier (upright) allows toe angle adjustments at 0°, 1°, or 2°. This is achieved simply by swapping bushings in the hub. This feature provides easy setup changes and wide adaptability to different track conditions, letting you quickly dial in the grip you need.

Ball differentials are included for both the front and rear axles. They provide smooth operation and deliver maximum traction to the wheels with their controlled slip action. This makes the buggy predictable and fast, helping you get the power down effectively out of corners.
