The Kyosho Optima Mid Custom Special is a unique and collectable 1/10 scale 4WD buggy that recreates a piece of RC history. This limited-edition model is inspired by the prototype designed by Akira Kogawa, the mastermind behind the original Optima Mid. Featuring Kogawa's signature peppermint green colour scheme (body shell not painted) and a modified Optima Pro body shell, this replica captures the essence of the prototype used by the Kyosho team at the 1987 World Championships.

The Optima Mid's drivetrain features a 48-pitch spur gear and a slipper clutch for enhanced performance and durability. The slipper clutch protects the gears from shock loads, ensuring smooth operation and extending the life of the drivetrain.
Ball differentials on both front and rear provide smooth operation and maximum traction with slip action when excessive load is applied for improved driving stability.
