This car replica is inspired by the prototype designed by Akira Kogawa, the principal designer behind Kyosho's Optima Mid. It showcases his signature peppermint green colour scheme, although the body shell is not painted. Akira participated in the 1987 World Championships in Romsey, England, where the Kyosho team used this prototype to great effect, placing five out of ten cars in the main A final.

Since many of the production-moulded parts were not ready before the World Championships, the prototype featured numerous CNC-machined aluminium and carbon parts. It also had a modified Optima Pro body shell. This version of the limited 60th Anniversary edition comes with the Le Mans Series Brushless motor & ESC.
