The first OPTIMA model was heralded as a technical masterpiece at its release in 1985, and from then, Kyosho set the standard in R/C development. Memories of the OPTIMA are fresh even after 30 years, and its stylish form and ruthlessly efficient performance still resonate amongst modern racing machines. Now the new OPTIMA is ready to continue the battle for racing dominance, embodying the latest technological evolution but with the distinctive OPTIMA style.
The narrow backbone-shaped chassis provides optimal geometry with large steering angles and double wishbone suspension with a long 35mm suspension stroke. The 4WD chain system is housed inside a sealed compartment, and the gears and gearbox at the centre of the drive train are equipped with robust metal counter gear pinion and rear diff case. The drive train also features a slipper clutch and precision 48-pitch gear modules. Modern features include the choice of chain drive or belt drive and big bore shocks on the front and rear recreated in the original OPTIMA colours, plus hex screws.
The Optima is a legend in the world of off-road racing, and this latest iteration is built to continue that legacy. With a focus on performance and durability, the Optima is ready to conquer any track and bring home the trophy.
The Optima's 4WD mechanics are efficiently packaged in a narrow, open-frame chassis constructed from lightweight 6061-T6 aluminium bars with a countersunk finish. This design prioritises agility and responsiveness for a thrilling driving experience.
Experience the unique characteristics of both chain drive and belt drive systems. The Optima allows you to choose the drivetrain that best suits your needs, providing flexibility and customisation options.
The gearbox is designed for both performance and durability. The slipper clutch enhances traction control and protects the gears from shock loads, ensuring smooth operation and long-lasting performance.
The drivetrain features precision 48-pitch gear modules for efficient power transfer. Sintered alloy gears, combined with high-impact nylon gears and a newly added slipper clutch, create a durable and efficient system that can handle the demands of high-power motors.
