The Marder III M was the final and most common variant of the German tank destroyer based on the versatile Czech 38(t) tank chassis. Armed with a powerful 7.5cm gun in an open-topped fighting compartment at the rear, it was a potent opponent for Allied armour. Marder III Ms were heavily engaged in the desperate defensive fighting that followed the Normandy landings in June 1944.
This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the Marder III M, specifically themed for the Normandy campaign. The highlight of this boxing is the inclusion of five figures, created using modern 3D scanning techniques for incredible realism. The set contains a full four-man vehicle crew plus an accompanying panzergrenadier. The vehicle itself features a detailed interior, user-friendly assembly-type tracks, a photo-etched muffler cover, and markings for two different vehicles.
