Overview

The "Wespe" (Wasp) was a German self-propelled howitzer developed during World War II, mounting a powerful 10.5cm gun on the reliable Panzer II chassis. These compact and effective vehicles saw extensive service from the Eastern Front to Normandy. In early 1944, Wespes were an integral part of the German divisions responding to the Allied landings at Anzio on the Italian Front.

This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the Wespe, specifically themed for the Italian campaign. The highlight of this boxing is the inclusion of four figures, allowing you to create a full gun crew in action. The open-topped fighting compartment is packed with detail, including shell racks, a radio, and ammo cases. The kit is completed with user-friendly assembly-type tracks and markings for two different Panzer divisions that fought at Anzio.

Features

The kit includes four figures in realistic action poses: a commander, a gunner, and two loaders.
A detailed open-top fighting compartment features parts for shell racks, a radio, ammo cases, and more.
Assembly-type tracks with one-piece straight sections allow for easy construction and a realistic 'sag' effect.
Markings for two different divisions from the Italian Front (Anzio) are provided.
The compact form of the Wespe is accurately captured with fine surface details.
The 10.5cm howitzer and breech are finely detailed.
Updated parts are included for various interior equipment like flare cases and medical kits.
