The M3 Stuart was an American light tank produced in vast numbers during the early years of World War II. While it served with U.S. forces in campaigns such as North Africa, the M3 was also a key part of the Lend-Lease program. Thousands were supplied to Allied nations, including the Soviet Union, where the Red Army pressed the reliable little tank into service for reconnaissance and infantry support duties on the Eastern Front.

This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a highly accurate replica of a late production M3 Stuart, based upon extensive research of full-size vehicles. The model faithfully captures the tank's riveted hull and the later, cupola-less horseshoe-shaped turret. The kit is highly versatile, with optional parts for the side sponson machine guns, a commander torso figure with alternate U.S. and Soviet head options, and marking schemes for two Red Army vehicles and one U.S. Army vehicle.
