The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, nicknamed "The Jug," was one of the main fighters of the US Army Air Force in WWII. This early "Razorback" version, with its distinctive upper fuselage spine, was a high-speed, high-altitude fighter that excelled as a bomber escort over Germany. Its incredible robustness and heavy armament of eight .50 calibre machine guns also made it a devastatingly effective ground-attack aircraft.
This 1/72 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the early production P-47D "Razorback." The model accurately reproduces the massive form of the plane and features a highly detailed cockpit. The kit is highly versatile, offering a choice of three types of mirrors, two types of gun sights, and two propeller types. A full set of ordnance and two different marking options are also included.
