The Pantsir-S1, known by its NATO reporting name SA-22 Greyhound, is a highly advanced, modern Russian self-propelled anti-aircraft gun and missile (SPAAGM) system. Developed as the successor to the capable Tunguska M1, the Pantsir combines a powerful suite of target-acquisition radar, twin 30mm auto-cannons, and up to twelve medium-range surface-to-air missiles on a single platform. This creates a layered, all-in-one air defence bubble, making it exceptionally deadly against a wide spectrum of aerial threats. It is specifically designed for the point defence of critical installations and to provide protection for friendly ground forces. The system is effective against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, precision munitions, and the growing threat of UAVs, particularly at the low and extremely low altitudes where many threats try to evade detection. While most commonly seen on a wheeled chassis, this tracked variant provides superior all-terrain mobility, allowing it to keep pace with heavy armoured formations across difficult terrain.

This Trumpeter 1/35 scale model kit is a detailed representation of the tracked Pantsir-S1 system. Composed of over 900 parts, this is a complex and rewarding project for the experienced modeller. The kit utilises advanced moulding techniques, featuring a multi-directional slide-moulded cab and multi-slide moulded upper and lower hulls, which ensure the highest levels of detail and dimensional accuracy. For ultimate realism, the kit includes 248 individual track links, allowing the builder to create the characteristic sag of a real tracked vehicle. Further enhancing the detail are two photo-etched frets for components like engine grilles and fine brackets, along with a copper cable to construct a realistic tow rope.
