The 2S3 Akatsiya ("Acacia") is a Soviet-era 152mm self-propelled howitzer that entered service in the early 1970s. Designed to provide mobile and protected artillery support to armoured and mechanised formations, it mounts a powerful 152mm gun, derived from the towed D-20 howitzer, on a fully enclosed tracked chassis. This combination gave Soviet forces a potent and survivable artillery system that served for decades.

This 1/35 scale kit from Trumpeter is a detailed replica of an early production version of the 2S3 Akatsiya. With over 530 parts, this is a complex and rewarding project for the experienced modeller.
