When the P-38 Lightning first flew, it catapulted fighter design into the future. With its distinctive twin-boom design and long-range capabilities, later versions became awesome fighters. This 1/48 scale Academy kit is incredibly versatile, including all the optional parts to build one of four distinct variants: the standard P-38J fighter, the glass-nosed "Droopsnoot" bomber leader, the P-38L "Pathfinder," or the F-5E photo-recon aircraft. The kit features fully engraved panel lines, realistic PVC tyres, and markings for several aircraft, including Col. Charles H. Mcdonald's famous "Putt Putt Maru."
The kit includes optional parts to build a P-38J, P-38J "Droopsnoot," P-38L "Pathfinder," or F-5E Photo Recon variant
