This kit is equipped with modern standard 55.8mm (2.2") wheels that mirror the 5-spoke style of the original Scorpion era. These wheels are normally sold as an optional upgrade but come included here to provide a premium look and better tyre compatibility. They deliver a perfect blend of vintage aesthetics and modern performance, ensuring your buggy looks authentic while handling current track conditions.

Forged A6061T6 aluminium suspension arms deliver superior strength, rigidity, and durability for intense off-road racing. These are paired with 12mm (0.47") oil shocks based on the legendary Optima design to realise high-level damping performance. This robust suspension system allows the Turbo Scorpion to soak up bumps and jumps with the precision of a modern competition buggy.

The backbone of this buggy is a ladder frame made from high-strength A6061T6 aluminium. The integrated radio box is finished in the same classic white as the original, recreating that racy vintage style while remaining compatible with various modern battery types. This lightweight yet rigid construction provides the structural integrity needed for high-speed brushless power systems.

Optimal use of nylon and sintered alloy in the 48-pitch gears results in low noise and high drivetrain efficiency. This setup provides smooth power delivery and can be upgraded with the optional ball differential from the Ultima RB. These high-quality internals ensure your gearbox remains reliable under the stress of high-torque motors, providing trouble-free performance on the track.

The two-piece aluminium diecast gearbox features an enclosed design to protect the built-in gear differential from debris. An integrated slipper clutch is included to protect the gears from damage during hard landings or high-grip starts. This protective feature is essential for maintaining drivetrain longevity and allows you to fine-tune your acceleration on different racing surfaces.

Maintain sure-footed traction with block-pattern rear tyres designed for maximum forward bite. The front end is equipped with soft-compound ribbed tyres that effectively remove understeer, providing sharp and predictable steering response. The Turbo Scorpion features a 20mm (0.79") wider front tread and a 10mm (0.39") longer wheelbase compared to the original 1980s version. These geometry changes significantly improve high-speed stability and cornering control. By increasing the footprint of the buggy, Kyosho has made this vintage legend much more forgiving and easier to handle on modern off-road circuits.

A white rear wing is included to match the vintage colour scheme, supported by a reinforced nylon resin wing stay. The kit also includes specific resin parts that allow the wing angle to be adjusted to suit different track layouts. This allows you to fine-tune the downforce of your buggy, providing better rear-end stability during high-speed jumps and technical cornering.
