The Grasshopper II, Black Edition

The Grasshopper II is one of Tamiya's iconic radio control car kits from the late 1980s. It was an enhanced follow-up release to the original Grasshopper kit. The kit features a number of updates while keeping largely faithful to the original model. Its streamlined construction process makes this kit perfect for less experienced users and R/C veterans alike, while separately sold option parts can be used to enhance the model. This Limited-Edition release features a black moulded plastic body that only needs stickers to be applied!

The body is moulded in durable black polystyrene.

Comes with CVA oil dampers and TBLE-04S ESC.

Stickers and a driver figure (not painted) are also included.

Bought the grasshopper 2 black edition as it is different to the original, comes with upgraded oil filled shocks which make a huge difference. Item arrived very quickly, box corner was a little crushed in transit which is unfortunate but the box was very well packaged up in bubble wrap and arrived promptly with express post even during the covid crisis. Kit was well priced, although it has gone up in price since I bought it. I kit is great although I can highly recommend upgrading to a 540 motor and installing ball bearings in place of the supplied plastic ones. However 380 motor and supplied kit bearings will still provide many hours of fun! Stickers in this kit are not pre cut like the grasshopper kit, just something to be aware of. Happy to buy again from hobbies direct! Have bought a few kit cars from them now! Hopefully a few more as time goes on!
