Tamiya 1/48 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat Scaled Plastic Model Kit

The Grumman F4F Wildcat was the primary carrier-based fighter for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in the crucial early years of the Pacific War. While often outmanoeuvred by its main rival, the Japanese A6M Zero, the Wildcat's incredibly rugged construction and heavy armament allowed its skilled pilots to hold the line during critical battles such as the Coral Sea, Midway, and Guadalcanal, earning it a legendary reputation.

This 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the rugged F4F-4 Wildcat. The model features a realistic surface finish, combining fine engraved panel lines with delicate raised rivet details to capture the look of the real aircraft. It includes a precisely reproduced and complex main landing gear structure, the option to build the wings in either the extended or folded position for carrier deck display, and a choice of four different marking options from the early Pacific War.
