Description

The revolutionary Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world's first jet-powered aircraft to see service. The A-1a fighter version, nicknamed "Schwalbe" (Swallow), was finally put into production in late 1944. Armed with four powerful 30mm cannons and optional air-to-air rockets, it was a fearsome opponent for Allied bombers and their escorts in the closing days of WWII.

This 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of the groundbreaking German jet. It features a detailed cockpit and nose cannon bay, which can be viewed through optional open panels. A key feature is the die-cast metal nose wheel well, which serves as a weight to ensure the model sits correctly. The kit is packed with options, including various rocket armaments, a pilot figure, and four different marking schemes.
