The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate ("Gale"), codename "Frank" by the Allies, was a formidable Japanese Army fighter that entered service in the spring of 1944. Tasked with defending the home islands from B-29s and carrier aircraft, its combination of speed, firepower, and manoeuvrability led the U.S. military to deem it the best all-around Japanese fighter of WWII after post-war evaluation.
This 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of this powerful late-war fighter. The model accurately reproduces the Hayate's form and features delicate surface details. It offers a range of build options, including deployed or retracted landing gear and an open or closed canopy. The kit is completed with two pilot figures and a choice of four different marking options.
