Tamiya is pleased to welcome back the Egress, successor to the famed Avante. The Avante was originally launched in 1988 and Tamiya used the experience and know-how of the Tamiya Racing Factory (TRF; founded in 1989) to create a racing version: the Egress. It featured carbon fibre plates, ball differentials, high-capacity oil dampers, and lightweight titanium screws. Now, the shaft-driven Egress receives a makeover to bring it right up to date.

This shaft-driven 4WD chassis features a longitudinally-positioned motor and full ball bearings, while carbon fibre upper and lower decks ensure superb strength. Re-designed front and rear ball differentials offer excellent reliability and easy maintenance, working in tandem with the built-in centre one-way. The one-way bearing can be locked. Universal drive shafts follow the same design as those used in the current TRF series parts. Four-wheel double wishbone suspension is supported by 4 oil dampers with aluminium cylinders, and front and rear stabilisers are fitted. Aluminium front uprights and ball bearings in steering linkage arms combine with 2mm thick carbon fibre plate for linear steering response. This version also features a brushless motor.

Long Wheel Base

The Egress features a 15mm longer wheelbase than the Avante, providing enhanced stability and a more planted feel, especially at high speeds. Carbon fibre upper and lower decks further enhance rigidity and contribute to a balanced chassis for optimal handling.

This body shell comes completely unpainted and may or may not require body post holes to be drilled. Only use a polycarbonate-style paint such as the Tamiya PS series to finish the body, as standard paints will not adhere and/or may cause damage to the body shell's surface.
