Tamiya has produced the iconic FIAT 131 Abarth Rally Olio Fiat on the user-friendly MF-01X rally chassis platform, designed for easy assembly and an enjoyable driving experience.

The FIAT 131 Abarth Rally originated from the Fiat 131 Mirafiori, which made its debut in 1976 and achieved global rally championship victories in 1977 and 1978. This kit faithfully replicates the livery of the Olio Fiat version.

The MF-01X chassis is a compact 4WD system suitable for various terrains. It utilises a rugged monocoque frame with built-in gearboxes, ensuring an exciting driving experience whether on roads or smooth dirt tracks. This chassis incorporates a rear-mounted motor that powers the rear wheels through a gear-driven mechanism and a propeller shaft transmitting power to the front. Both the front and rear gearboxes feature differential gears for improved handling. The strategically placed battery pack at the chassis centre ensures excellent balance, while the 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension is equipped with friction dampers. Additionally, the kit includes off-road capable M-05Ra chassis uprights and hub carriers, and it comes with spoke wheels paired with rally block tyres for added versatility.

Rear Mounted Motor

The motor is strategically mounted at the rear of the monocoque frame, providing direct power to the rear wheels via gears. A propeller shaft extends to the front wheels, creating an efficient 4WD system for better traction and control.

This MF-01X sports a sleek 2-door sedan form and the distinctive dark blue and yellow livery of the "OLIO FIAT" sponsored Rally car. Meticulous details, like the integrated air dam skirt, separate fog lamps, and round door mirrors with driver names, complete the highly realistic look. The smooth tail, separate rear spoiler, and bold overfenders complete the agressive rally look.

Adjustable Wheelbase

The versatile monocoque frame allows you to adjust the wheelbase to suit your driving preferences. By changing the central spacer block and installing a separately sold prop shaft, you can choose between short (210mm), medium (225mm), or long (239mm) wheelbase configurations.

4 Wheel Independent Double Wishbone Suspension

The double wishbone suspension, both front and rear, delivers fantastic handling and off-road performance. The tough uprights and hub carriers on the front ensure durability, while friction shock absorbers on the rear provide effective damping action.

This body shell comes completely unpainted and may or may not require body post holes to be drilled. Only use a polycarbonate-style paint such as the Tamiya PS series to finish the body, as standard paints will not adhere and/or may cause damage to the body shell's surface.
