Recreate the excitement of the 2009 American Le Mans Series with the Tamiya BMW M3 GT2 RC car. This 1/10 scale kit is a model of the famous Rahal Letterman racing car, designed for smooth on-road driving. It uses the popular TT-01 Type-E chassis, which is known for being very sturdy and simple to put together, making it a great choice for your first RC build.
This kit features a shaft-driven 4WD system that sends power to all four wheels at once, giving you better control and stability on the tarmac. To make the car look even more realistic, Tamiya has included a TLU-01 LED light unit along with four LED bulbs. You can install these into the specially designed light cases to make your BMW M3 GT2 glow during nighttime racing.
Inside the box, you will find a 540 brushed motor and an ESC (Electronic Speed Controller), which is the part that acts as the car's brain to manage your speed. The body is made from clear polycarbonate, allowing you to paint it and apply the included decals to match the real racing team. With its independent suspension and treaded tyres, this car offers a balanced and fun driving experience for any hobbyist.
The front and rear uprights are engineered specifically for the TT-01 TYPE-E platform. They are constructed from durable high-strength materials to ensure they can withstand the rigours of racing while maintaining a precise fit.
The TT-01E boasts independent front and rear double-wishbone suspension, allowing the model to hug the ground for superior traction and stability. Friction dampers effectively absorb bumps and imperfections in the terrain, ensuring a smooth and controlled drive even over rough surfaces.
The upper deck is designed with racing in mind and can be fitted with a transponder bracket. This is a must-have feature for competitive racing, as it allows you to easily mount the electronic device used by tracks to record your lap times.
The separate shock absorber mount stay provides two mounting positions for your shocks. This level of adjustability allows you to customise your suspension for better cornering or improved stability, depending on your racing needs.
The TT-01 Type-E features a robust plastic bathtub chassis as its foundation. This design, reinforced with a screw-attached upper deck, provides exceptional rigidity and reliability, ensuring precise handling and control even under demanding driving conditions.
