The RC8B4.1 electric buggy is the highly anticipated evolution of the RC8B4, boasting significant improvements for unrivalled performance on un-groomed outdoor tracks. Team Associated engineers focused on lowering the centre of gravity and weight, while enhancing handling for optimal control.

The heart of this buggy lies in the innovative RWB/FWB adjustable weight bias chassis, which allows drivers to run either a rear-motor configuration for enhanced traction or a front-motor setup for improved steering by simply shifting the centre diff and flipping the centre driveshaft. The suspension has been thoroughly revamped with new low-CG front and rear shock towers and shorter shocks, redesigned 3-hole rear suspension arms, and wide base rear hubs with three fixed axle heights and 3mm carbon fibre hub towers. The 92mm universal joints, 44/13 bevel gears, and 46T moulded spur gear deliver smooth power delivery and maximum traction on any un-groomed outdoor track.

New 3-hole rear suspension arms enable softer shock and spring settings, maximising grip without compromising support in high-speed turns. Wide base rear hubs, offered in three fixed axle heights, provide multiple geometry options, fine-tuned by 3mm carbon fibre hub towers.

Shock Upgrades

The RC8B4 now features cutting-edge shock pistons for enhanced control and performance. New 6-hole pistons, 1.4mm in the front and 1.5mm taper in the rear, deliver precise damping for a smoother, more controlled ride. These machined pistons, paired with emulsion shock cap seals, work in perfect harmony to optimise the shock performance.
