Learn to fly successfully with the HobbyZone Apprentice STOL S 700mm, a scaled-down and optimised version of one of the most popular RC trainer aircraft ever. Its ultra-micro size makes it affordable, convenient, and perfect for flying anywhere where larger models can't typically be flown by beginners. The design also incorporates STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) capabilities, similar to the iconic E-flite Timber series.
This model is equipped with exclusive SAFE technology, offering Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced flight modes to help you learn at your own pace. The powerful brushless motor provides the ability to handle light winds up to 8 km/h (5 mph), while the taildragger landing gear with oversized tyres allows for takeoffs from various surfaces, including grass. The durable EPO construction can handle the bumps of the learning process.
As a Bind-N-Fly Basic aircraft, it comes with a factory-installed brushless motor, ESC, receiver, and servos. Just bind it to your compatible Spektrum transmitter, add a 2S 300mAh battery, and you're ready to start your RC flight journey. Once you've mastered the basics, you can even progress to performing aerobatics like loops and rolls.
The Apprentice STOL S 700mm is a scaled-down version of the popular Apprentice models, specifically designed to offer impressive STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) capabilities akin to E-flite® Timber® series aircraft. Its ultra-micro size makes it more affordable and convenient, allowing more people to fly in a wider range of locations and smaller spaces, from backyards and parks to sports fields.
The Apprentice STOL S 700mm is driven by a factory-installed brushless outrunner motor, designed for performance and efficiency. Compatible with common 2S 300mAh LiPo batteries, this motor provides ample power to fly in winds up to 5 mph, a significant advantage over other ultra-micro and mini-class trainer models, ensuring consistent performance.
The Apprentice STOL S 700mm is equipped with robust landing gear, including oversized tyres and a steerable tailwheel. This setup makes it possible to operate from a variety of surfaces that usually pose a challenge for ultra-micro models, such as grassy parks, gravel paths, and paved areas, significantly expanding your flying opportunities.
The Apprentice STOL S 700mm is engineered for longevity and resilience. Its airframe, made from advanced EPO material, provides a lightweight yet extremely durable build. This robust construction ensures it can withstand regular flying punishment, making it the most durable ultra-micro trainer yet. A full line of replacement parts is also readily available for any needed repairs.
Get airborne quickly with the Apprentice STOL S 700mm. It arrives largely factory-assembled, with essential components pre-installed. The only assembly required involves sliding the landing gear into the fuselage and securing the wing with two thumbscrews, a process that needs no glue or tools and gets you flying in minutes after unpacking.
This plane is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works seamlessly to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence, providing a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger aeroplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-levelling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make it easier to take off, fly, and land!
Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos, and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed, so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!
