The Challenger 2 is a powerful evolution of the capable Challenger 1, featuring a newly designed turret with second-generation Chobham armour and a formidable 120mm rifled gun. During the 2003 Iraq War, tanks of the 7th Armoured Brigade, the famous "Desert Rats", were equipped with special modifications for desert operations, including reactive and composite armour, and canvas dust skirts to cope with the harsh environment.

This 1/35 scale Tamiya kit realistically reproduces the powerful features of the "desertised" Challenger 2. It accurately captures the additional armour on the front and sides of the vehicle, the distinctive canvas skirts, and the Combat Identification Panels (CIP) used during the conflict. The kit includes easy-to-use belt-type tracks, transparent parts for lights and sights, and half-figures for the commander and loader to bring the model to life.
