The Tamiya Avante Black Special is a limited-edition re-release of a true RC icon, originally released to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Tamiya R/C car products. It sports a colour scheme inspired by its Mini 4WD cousin the Avante Black Special. The machine features a unique shaft-driven 4WD system taken from Tamiya's first 4WD R/C buggy, the Hotshot, with a highly sophisticated design including an FRP double-deck chassis layout, longitudinal motor and battery positions, and a formula-type body with chassis fairing. The modern specification features updates such as universal drive-shafts and machined aluminium uprights for increased durability and performance over the original.

Note: The 47390 kit is a reissue of the 84270 Avante 2011 kit, which is itself a reissue of the original 58072 Avante. It was reissued again in spring 2022.

Note

This body shell is completely unpainted and may or may not require body post holes to be drilled. Only use a polycarbonate-style paint such as the Tamiya PS series to finish this body — standard paints will not adhere and/or may cause damage to the body shell surface.
