The Toyota Land Cruiser 40 has been a staple subject for Tamiya since 2008, first appearing on the CR-01 crawler chassis then later the CC-01. Now it makes its way on to Tamiya's newest cross-country platform, the CC-02, with detail tweaks for the scale enthusiast.
The CC-02 chassis is built for various off-road terrains including rocky surfaces. Its ladder frame takes inspiration from real-life vehicles and provides excellent durability. The 4WD setup features a longitudinal motor placed behind the front axle, a separate gearbox and transfer case, and propeller shafts that transmit power to the differential gears at the front and rear. Its four-link rigid suspension comes with CVA oil shocks providing comprehensive control on rocky sections. This model includes matte plated seven-spoke wheels and block pattern tyres for better grip.
Note
This kit comes without an Electronic Speed Controller (ESC). This body shell comes completely UNPAINTED. Only use a polycarbonate style paint such as the Tamiya PS series to finish these bodies, as standard paints will not adhere and/or cause damage to the body shell's surface.
The CC-02's four-link suspension delivers outstanding performance and scale realism. Robust link arms connect the axles, while oil shocks provide smooth damping action and exceptional articulation for conquering challenging obstacles.
Fine-tune the CC-02's performance to match your driving style and terrain with a wide range of gear ratios. Twenty different ratios, from 11.09 to 29.28:1, are achievable by adjusting the gear layout and utilising your choice of separately-sold pinions.
The CC-02 chassis is designed for tough off-road action. Metal frame sections provide exceptional durability, while CVA oil shocks ensure smooth damping and maximum performance on challenging terrain.
The CC-02 comes with robust axle housings that can handle extreme off-road conditions. Inside, 3-bevel differentials provide smooth operation, and they can be assembled in a locked position for increased traction when needed, ensuring you maintain control on any surface.
The CC-02 delivers an authentic driving experience thanks to its scale drivetrain configuration. The motor is positioned in the front midsection, and power is transferred through a central gearbox and propeller shafts to both the front and rear axles, just like a real car.
The CC-02 chassis features a realistic ladder frame, inspired by full-size off-road vehicles, providing exceptional rigidity and durability for tackling challenging terrain.
