Servos are powered by the ESC's output to the receiver. If you're using a higher-strength servo than the ESC can support (usually greater than 20kg), you may experience 'brown-outs' where the radio signal can be interrupted and cause erratic driving. This can be helped by plugging a Glitch Buster into the receiver smoothing the current delivery. However, in some cases, you may need to install an external BEC.

New from Power HD — the TR-4! With compatibility for high voltage 6V–8.4V, at 7.4V input the servo pulls up to 2.6kg-cm of torque at a speed of down to 0.10s. A long 35cm receiver wire and mini size of 22.5 x 12.5 x 24.0mm ensures the servo is a direct fit in the Traxxas TRX-4 Crawler Range! The TR-4 servo comes with a 25T metal spline and special gaskets making it waterproof for go-everywhere capabilities.

Standard steering servo on my son's Traxxas trx4m bronco died within 4 days of carpet crawling, so new servo with metal gear set was ordered with hobbies direct and within 4 days we had it at our door. Came with new horns in great packaging and even better, (and not very common) is the servo wires were longer then standard making the job so much easier, plug and play and we were away.
