FAQs for Off Road RC Cars
What's the best off-road RC car?
For general bashing, an Arrma or Traxxas 4WD truck is hard to beat. For technical terrain, a crawler. For competitive racing, a 1/8 buggy or truggy. It depends on whether you want to bash, crawl or race.
2WD or 4WD for off-road?
4WD handles loose dirt, sand and rough terrain much better — it's the standard for off-road bashing. 2WD is lighter and fine on groomed tracks, but struggles on uneven or loose ground. For parks and backyards, 4WD is the better buy.
What scale is best for off-road?
1/10 is the sweet spot — big enough to handle rough ground, small enough to fit in the car. 1/8 is faster and tougher but heavier and pricier. 1/16 and 1/18 are great for smaller spaces.
