How to reinforce a Deans Ultra T plug using hot glue and shrink wrap
Deans plugs are great connectors and have been one of the most popular hobby connectors worldwide for a long time. Deans plugs can have quite a tight/firm fit which causes a substantial amount of load/stress on the wires, especially for smaller wires.
What you'll need:
- Deans T plug (on wire)
- Hot glue gun
- Heat gun
- Shrink wrap
Step 1
Apply hot glue - Don't over do it, the shrink wrap won't go over if there's too much hot glue.
Step 2
Wait a minute to allow the hot glue to cool.
Step 3
Slide the shrink wrap over the whole plug until it's flush with the end of the deans plug.
Step 4
Heat with a heat gun, you should see the shrink wrap mould the hot glue inside leaving a nice smooth finish.
Finished - Well Done
Never break your wires again! Pull as hard as you like :)
