Returns

Refunds by law: In Australia, consumers have a legal right to obtain a refund from a business for goods purchased if the goods are faulty, not fit for purpose or don't match the description.

We love the RC products we stock and want you to feel the same way about your purchase. You may return your product for a full refund or exchange, provided that the product:

  • Is returned within 60 days from the delivery date; and
  • Is unused and in its original condition; and
  • Is returned by registered mail with all original packaging and proof of purchase from Hobbies Direct.
  • If the product came with a gift, that gift must be returned with the acquisition, or the value of the gift will be deducted from your refund/exchange voucher.
  • Sorry - gift vouchers are non-refundable.
Once returned, we will only process a refund for the returned products and not refund extra costs like delivery.

Change of mind

We welcome returns if you have changed your mind since your purchase. All returns will be accepted if the product meets the following conditions. The product:

  • Is returned within 60 days from the delivery date; and
  • Is unused and in its original condition; and
  • Is returned by registered mail with all original packaging and proof of purchase from Hobbies Direct.
  • If the product came with a gift, that gift must be returned with the acquisition, or the value of the gift will be deducted from your refund/exchange voucher.

Sorry - gift vouchers are non-refundable.

Free Returns

We are pleased to offer free returns on all orders that meet the above conditions. Simply contact our customer service team, and we will provide a prepaid return shipping label for you to send the item back.

Delivery errors

If we have sent you an incorrect item ? we pay the return freight. For warranty claims it is on a "Return to Base" basis, the purchaser is responsible for returning the item and the seller is in charge to then return the repaired or replacement item back to you. If an item is faulty and the photos sent to us show a defective item that we cannot resell or use we may not even request its return. If you accidentally ordered an incorrect size or have damaged an item, it is your cost to return the item and pay redelivery of the correct item and any difference between the expense of the two products.

Product availability

Hobbies Direct? endeavours to provide an accurate and up to date stock status for our products so that customers can see and rely on the product availability displayed in our store. Unfortunately, there are many factors which can cause stock level inaccuracies. If part of an order is unable to be supplied, Hobbies Direct? reserves the right to either ship the available product on the order and refund the remainder, or cancel the order.

Our dispatch guarantee

Hobbies Direct? aims to dispatch all orders as quickly as possible to provide timely delivery to your door. We ensure that all ordered fully paid before 1 PM local time is sent from the most appropriate warehouse the same day, with the following conditions applying. The time cut-off applies to the dispatching warehouse's local timezone. We also reserve the right to delay temporarily the dispatch of an order to verify the authenticity of the purchase. All items ordered must be in stock.

Due to the large nature of wholesale orders, we do not guarantee dispatch times for wholesale customers, however, we do still try our best to get your orders out in time.

Faulty goods

We may need the defective item back to the point of purchase either for assessment, exchange or re-work, if this is the case we will require the affected items returned to us before releasing replacement items to you. Any shipping is the purchaser's responsibility and cost. However, we are mindful to minimise unnecessary costs where we can. We'll endeavour to resolve any issues without the need to use any shipping at all. We assess this on a case by case basis. Good quality digital photos can be used to help us determine the detailed nature and specifics of the problem. The product must be returned in suitable secure packaging to prevent any damage in transit, (intact original packaging is ideal). All defective or missing parts deemed to fit within the warranty will be replaced by seller free of charge, excluding any labour or delivery costs.

Warranty

All the cars we sell come with a 30-day manufacturer's warranty on the electronics, and all other parts are assessed on a case by case basis. We are very fair when it comes to honouring warranties but do please keep in mind that if it has been crashed, of course, it won't be covered. Breakages or failures that have been caused by misuse, abuse or lack of standard maintenance will not be deemed as warrantable. Whilst ideally bringing the part into store is the best way for us to assess and identify issues quickly and accurately, if you are not local and have had the items shipped to you, we will endeavour to assess and/or diagnose the item/s without requiring them to be sent back to our store, although, in some circumstances, postage back to us may be required. Postage costs are not typically covered by the warranty policy, but for the sake of fairness, we will cover the cost of shipping for the replacement part/s from our warehouse/store to your designated address, in the event that the item is deemed faulty. 

Security checks

Hobbies Direct? is committed to reducing the amount of fraudulent activity that occurs in today's online world. In some certain circumstances, Hobbies Direct? may require an additional step of security to verify the authenticity of an order before it is able to be dispatched or picked up from our warehouse. Hobbies Direct? reserves the right to manually run this extra level of verification on any order at any time, at our sole discretion, and you, the purchaser agree to waive the same day delivery guarantee in the circumstance that this process is run on your order. The process we will use to verify this will involve a re-charge to the cardholder's account (in the instance of orders paid through credit card) which we will require the person who placed the order to verify the exact amount re-charged, to confirm they have control over the bank account and credit card.

Proof of purchase

For the purpose of easy verification of the evidence of purchase, it is best to complete checkout as a registered customer as we will have all details needed for verification on file. To verify the purchase of checkouts completed as a guest user, you'll need to provide the original documentation sent with the products on delivery.

International customers

As an addition to shipping Australia wide, we ship to New Zealand.

If an order is paid for from an international bank account, billing address or IP Address, with a delivery address inside of Australia, Hobbies Direct? reserves the right to delay the dispatch of the item/s if we are unsatisfied with the authenticity of the purchase. We may wish to perform an extra verification step (applies to credit card purchases only). Hobbies Direct? is an Australian owned and operated, and as such, deals only in Australian Dollars (AUD). Any fees or costs involved with currency conversion or international transactions must be solely borne by you, the purchaser.

International customers are responsible for any fees (including taxes) charged by your local customs or postal office.

Parts finder

We have built a parts finder to help customers find and browse parts. Before purchase, you should always cross-reference all parts with your manual to ensure you're purchasing the correct part. We will not be held responsible for any errors in the parts finder.

Pricing

While we try our best to keep our pricing accurate and up-to-date, errors can occur on our behalf. Suppose a purchase is made for a product/s where such an error has occurred. In that case, we reserve the right to cancel or temporarily place a hold on the order process whilst we contact the purchaser to determine the best course of action, whether a partial refund for the affected products or a full refund and order cancellation.

Gift vouchers

  • All cards expire in 36 months from the date of purchase
  • Any unused balance will not be refunded or credited upon card expiry
  • Except as required by law, this card is non-refundable and is not redeemable for cash
  • Gift cards can not be used to purchase gift cards
